PRB: The modems do not connect properly

Summary

When connecting to a remote computer, the modems do not connect properly and disconnect.


Discussion

Try reversing who is calling and who is answering. If you still experience difficulty, try turning off the compression feature on your modem and/or reducing the speed of your modem:

  1. Open the Options dialog box.

  2. Select the Communications tab.

  3. In the list, click on the modem that you are using.

  4. Click on Setup.

  5. To disable compression, add %C0 (or equivalent command for your modem) to the modem initialization string. You can also try using a slower speed.

  6. Click OK to close the Modem Setup dialog box.

  7. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.

  8. Try calling again.
