Document ID: Q101010
This article applies to the following:
Product(s): Second Opinion Standard, Second Opinion Professional
Hardware: Integral
Technologies FlashBus
Operating System: Microsoft Windows NT
Last Revised On: April 24, 2001
Summary
The FlashBus card installation may not
correctly install the Video for Windows capture drivers. Follow this
procedure to install them.
Discussion
A) Ensure Service Pack 4 is installed (Service Pack 3 will probably not
work). This should install DirectShow 3.0.
B) Install the Capture Card
- Install the FlashBus card. If you want to capture video clips,
ensure JP2 is on.
- Install FlashBus software with default options.
- To install the FlashBus VIDCAP32 driver
click Start, Settings, Control
Panel, Multimedia, Devices, Add
- Choose "Unlisted or Updated Driver" and click
OK
- Choose "C:\FlashBus\VFW\nt\" and click
OK
- Choose "FlashBus VIDCAP 32" and click
OK
- Run FBG32 and ensure video capture works.
C) Adding Overlay Support
- Check if the video card supports linear addressing:
- Run "C:\FlashBus\Util\Fbinfo32.exe"
- If the VGA Aperture line displays "linear" then video
card should work
- Edit FBG.INI
- Set "OnScreen=1" and save
- To test, run FBG32
and click Tools, Configuration and uncheck Off
Screen.
If video overlay does not appear correctly or contains black lines in
capture frames, try changing resolution
(800x600, 1024x768, or higher. Some video cards do not support linear
addressing in some modes correctly).
D) If, when you run Second Opinion, you get the message "FBUS.DLL
not found," you will need to remove one file:
- Use Windows Explorer to browse the "C:\Winnt\Twain"
folder.
- Delete the "Fbus16.ds" file.
